This is an individual assignment. Assume you are a security analyst for the National University System. You have been tasked with writing a daily cyber threat and intel report for the CIO. Students will be assigned a specific date to generate their report (prior to Week Three, Instructor will post a Class Roster with these assignments). There may be at least three student reports per day. The brief should cover events over the 24-hour period starting at 12:00 noon and ending at 12:00 noon on the date assigned. As an example, if your assigned date is 19-Jan, your brief must cover the 24-hour period from 12:00 noon on 18-Jan through 12:00 noon on 19-Jan, and your paper must be submitted no later than 8:00pm (Pacific Time) on 19-Jan.
Some examples of items to include:
a. Search for IP’s in threat intel feeds
b. Search Pastebin and other sources
c. Relevant malware and attacks
d. Regulatory news
Submit your report as a Word document with the file named as: lastname_intel_date.docx (e.g., smythe_intel_19-jan.docx).
Your assignment is due to be submitted no later than 8:00pm (PT) on the date assigned. Completed reports will be provided (as a PDF file) to the NU CIO and SOEC Dean. Unless otherwise requested, your name will be redacted.
