The Emergence of Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) Research Proposal

Situation:

What is A.I.? Artificial is everywhere and has been around for quite some time. I will discuss A.I, and the three aspects of it that have made it evolve into what we used today.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a broad field of study dedicated to complex problem solving.
Machine Learning (ML) is usually considered as a subfield of AI. ML is a data driven
Deep Learning (DL) is a subfield of ML focused on deep neural networks (NN)

approach focused on creating algorithms that can learn from the data without being explicitly programmed.

able to automatically learn hierarchical representations.

Benefits:

A.I. can be a handy tool to assist when necessary for medical purposes, law enforcement, science, and industry.
It will increase our ability to understand current mysteries of the universe, and to have a solution to real-world issues.
AI as a multiplier for human ingenuity, those solutions will come into reach.

Potential Obstacles:

The future is unknown because researchers disagree on a lot of the same issues (personal privacy and ethical limits).
With the rate at which technology is growing it is logical to believe A.I. will continue to get more and more sophisticated
A.I.s ability to react correctly with an “intelligence” that simulates a real human.
Will there come a point when computers become too intelligent?
