VBScript vs JavaScript
VBScript is an active scripting language for the interpreter. JavaScript is client based scripting language used mostly in web browsers. You can use VBScript for both client and server side, JavaScript only client side. VBScript is not case sensitive, JavaScript is and VBS uses only ‘ for comments, JS uses // or /*…*/.VBS only runs on internet explorer, JS can run on all browsers.VBS is server side validation versus Javascript being only client side.VBS uses functions and subroutines, which uses function and end function for starting and ending a function; JS supports only functions uses braces for start and end a function.VBS is developed from a Basic language as to where JS is C language.VBS is not a default scripting language but JS is.And last but not least, the VBS ext is .vbs and JS is .js.
There really isn’t any comparison to these languages. Both programs can be used in command prompt and notepad ++. Looking forward to learning more!

Server-side programming on a Windows platform works from a Microsoft version of JavaScript called Jscript. VBScript is Microsoft version of scripting. VB stands for Visual Basic. Script runs on WSH which stands for Windows Script Host or secondary host usually installed on Windows. If you save your JavaScript with the extension .js WSH will run the script just as it does Script.
JavaScript is more powerful than Script. Javascript has been around much longer than Script going all the way back to Netscape browser. JavaScript server-side scripting has a more in-depth array, libraries and is a more advance and exhaustive language. There is a lot of build in objects and functions. Java scripting is more universal across multiple platforms where Script is more limited to Windows. Script is basically Microsoft’s a copy-cat of JavaScript. Microsoft started out as a copy-cat of Apple OS.
Both scripts have their own extensions. The library related to the extension recognizes the extension and the coding within it. The coding in a JavaScript or Jscript is different than a Script. Node.js is server-side java script and WSH is the server-side for Scripts. Node.js scalable to millions of concurrent connections and Script is not. Although Script is considered a more simple and easier language to learn I may have a to differ. Java seems to be just as easy and based off of common sense in a different manner than Script. Java will work on Linux, Unix, OSX (Apple’s version of Linux) and Windows platforms. Script will work on Windows platforms.
