Application to client case (approx. 800 words): Your aim in this section is to show thatyou understand how to apply the core counselling approach to the client case.Writing in the first person, introduce your hypothetical client giving them a name, age,gender, and state the problems that have led them to seek counselling. You might find ithelpful to look at authors who have used case studies in their writing. Based on yourclients reasons for coming for counselling, conceptualise your client’s presenting issuespresented during the assessment session(s) from the theoretical approach you havechosen. From what you know of your client so far from their initial referral andassessment session, describe how you would agree upon a plan with your client for thetherapeutic work being mindful of the influence your chosen approach has on yourdecision making. Based on your thinking and decision making at the previous stages ofmeeting your client, what therapeutic techniques/approaches you might draw on tomost effectively address your clients presenting issues. Throughout this section, makereference to the ways in which you draw on the evidence base to inform your decisionmaking when working you’re your clients presenting issues within the context you aremeeting them.3. Role of the therapist and client (approx. 200 words): Each counselling approach has adifferent view of the role of the therapist.
