Instructions:
Pick one network scenario and explain with as much as detail as needed. This project
involves week by week progress of your activity with your instructor.
Before you start your scenario case numbers it will need to be reviewed by your
instructor. Submit a purpose statement indicating which scenario you are choosing and
why. This will be due as an assignment during Week 2 (10 points).
In your Report – You will need to solve the scenarios problem. Explain all the materials
needed for its construction for your network design & functionality. Network devices,
OS, computer & Network hardware specifications, wires, conduits, distance, location
etc… Floor/ground plan diagrams need to be included. Every device and or material(s)
being used needs to be explained and why it’s implemented in your project, its purpose,
and usage? MS Visio or SmartDraw is ideal to be used for this assignment.
Note: That each network construction would have at least one direct way to transfer and
access data. It is also a necessary to have a secondary back door connection to its data for
security purposes.
Along with your report assignment you will also need to define the following 45 terms or
devices below and give an explanation and or image of each.
The Final Project Assignment is due during Finals week (50 points).
Scenarios
Case 1: Solution Depot’s Network System
A new Network System needs to be setup for Solution Depot that has the best firewall
protection for both encryption and virus protection between two locations. The system is
located in two buildings across from each other separated by a main highway. The
company has 4 floors in each building holding 30 – 50 employees at each location. One
of the buildings acts for customer support and sales. The other building serves as the IT
and corporate head quarters. The companies business is an application that is on the
Internet. Each building has its own network department. How will each building(s) and

floors be networked? How will the company hold its network security? How will its
service be provided?
