This is a scholarly paper will be graded based on scholarly paper rubric attached to this assignment, which is included in this syllabus. Using the PICOT process, analyze a current nursing practice-related legislative issue and present it in a scholarly paper. The legislative issue will be of your own choosing. The scholarly paper should be typed, double spaced, 12 point, Times New Roman using APA format, and limited to 6 pages including title and reference pages. Support your position with references from at least two peer reviewed journal reference articles. The PICOT question format is a consistent “formula” for developing answerable, researchable questions.
P: Population/patient – age, gender, ethnicity, individuals with a certain disorder.
I: Intervention/indicator (Variable of Interest) – exposure to a disease, risk behavior, prognostic factor.
C: Comparison/control – could be a placebo or “business as usual” as in no disease, absence of risk factor, Prognostic factor B.
O: Outcome – risk of disease, accuracy of a diagnosis, rate of occurrence of adverse outcome.
T: Time – the time it takes for the intervention to achieve an outcome or how long participants are observed
