Now that you have decided on your event, you will need to budget to create your best event possible. The department has provided you with $5,000 to run your entire event. You must provide your director with a balanced budget sheet along with justification for certain purchases and expenditures. You must also develop one profit center that will be at your event to assist in some revenue generation for your department. You currently have no equipment for your event, so you must purchase equipment as well.

Your director has asked you to take care of the following expenditures from your $5,000 budget:

Space Rental

Part time wages

Program Supplies

Custodial services for your event

Profit Center (a revenue generating item or concession that will help offset costs).

Liability Insurance (the cost will be based on participant head count).

On a separate word document, you will need to provide the justification for the expenditure of the following items:

Program Supplies: Justify the cost of your equipment and site a source for general cost.

Profit Center: Identify which profit centers you would like to have in your facility. They can be what was covered in class presentations or they can be something unique to the type of facility you will be offering.

Part time wages: No one will volunteer for this event. All staff, officials, and referees must be paid a legal wage (at least $7.25/hour). Based on your previous assignments if your are doing an event that is multiple weeks, you will need to account for the labor based on the entirety of your event.

Space rental: What is the cost to rent the space. Even though you are working for the city of your choice, you will still need to account for the space usage.

All expenses must be accounted for (must have a zero balance) and justifications completed for each line item requested. Failure to properly balance budget or justify expenses will result in loan denial and failure of this assignment.
