VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Many community groups, hospitals, libraries, and churches are looking for volunteers to assist in their programs. Volunteering has rewards for both the volunteer and the community.

Your task:

  1. Using the web as a resource, research volunteer opportunities in your community.
    1. For instance start up Google and enter the following search terms:
      1. volunteer opportunities in Washington DC area
  2. Then using MS-Word 2016,
  • Write a one-page report that includes information about
    • Two volunteer groups for which you would like to volunteer
  • For each volunteer group, do:
    • Include information about what the organization does for the community
    • List the types of jobs/activities available for volunteers, times, and number of hours
    • Also include the skills you have to offer and the amount of time you can commit as a volunteer
  • Include a title at the top of the document and
    • your name and the current date below the title
  • Center the title lines
  • Use at least two colors of text, two sizes of text, and two kinds of paragraph alignment
  • Include a graphic from Office.com
  • Include your name in the file properties as author and the file name as the title
  • Save the document as Volunteer Opportunities
