Harry Hess of Princeton proposed the theory of plate

Harry Hess of Princeton proposed the theory of plate tectonics.  Hess had three main hypotheses that together formed a unified theory of how the Earth works: 1) the Earth is broken into a series of lithospheric plates; 2) the plates are in motion relative to each other, and 3) the crust is formed at ocean ridges and destroyed in subduction zones.   Vine-Mattews-Morely came up with the hypothesis that seafloor spreading acts like a magnetic tape recorder (watch the video from Fred Vine).
In everyday use, theory implies something untested (I have a theory or an idea), and having only a small degree of evidence in its favor.  However, in science
1) A hypothesis is a tentative explanation for an observation, phenomenon, or scientific problem that can be tested by further investigation. It is “an idea.”
2) A theory is a set of statements or principles devised to explain a group of facts or phenomena; theories have been repeatedly tested or is widely accepted and can be used to make predictions about natural phenomena.
Data are observations.  In this discussion we want you to list 4 types of geologic data used to test the hypotheses that  “the Earth is broken into a series of lithospheric plates.”  What data/observations support this?Hint: for some or most of the data, think of large scale topographic features or global geologic trends discussed in the lecture.  Note:  You can only use one type of data set or observation from Continental Drift.
I attached a PDF file of the plate tectonis. Plese use information from that PDF. Thank you so much!
