Ghost in the Wires Book Report Paper
Once you have read the book, you can write your report. The report should provide an overview (Links to an external site.) of what the book is about and then supply your analysis (Links to an external site.) and assessment (Links to an external site.) of some of the issues discussed. If it is not possible to discuss all the issues covered by the author in detail, select a few issues that relate to our course and describe the author’s viewpoints (Links to an external site.) and your reaction to them. Do you think the points made are valid (Links to an external site.) or not? Why? In particular, be alert for places where the author has shown bias (Links to an external site.) in the choice (or avoidance (Links to an external site.) ) of evidence or examples. Whenever possible, try to supply your own examples or counterexamples (Links to an external site.) .
The written report should be at least 1800 words and no more than 2000 words (not counting the first page header and any Works Cited section). Pages should be printed double-spaced with sequential page numbersappearing in the upper righthand corner of each page (except the cover page, if present).
An informal style of citation is all that is required for this paper. The title and author of the book about which you are writing should be clearly stated within the first paragraph of your paper. Subsequent citations to this book can simply be page numbers enclosed in parentheses. If you choose to cite other resources (books, articles, web sites, etc.), provide a Works Cited list at the end of your paper listing any additional resources alphabetically by authors’ last name. These entries should include sufficient information to allow the reader to identify and obtain the resource if so desired. Citations to any of these works should consist of the author’s last name and (if appropriate) a page number and be inserted as needed within your paper.
