This paper is based on older adults (65 and older) class, for a master degree course on social work and clinical practice. you will develop interview questions, interview and then do paper itself, all details are included, including classes and readings to be used for references and literature review. Please read carefully and make sure you understand this assignment, if any other articles or readings are necessary please let me know I am able to provide more if necessary. Interview questions you choose must be included as appendix. Purpose: the purpose of this assignment is to identify and explore a theme that captures the experience of aging and old age individual. You will begin by interviewing an older person. You may interview a relative, friend, neighbor, stranger, ect., or you may interview a client, however you need to be certain that this process will be helpful to the client and is appropriate to the client, his/her situation, and your working relationship. Do not use a client’s real name in this paper. Questions: the first part of this interview is to develop the questions you will use for the interview. Some questions may be added during the actual interview as appropriate, but it is important to be clear, going into the interview, what questions you need to ask in order to gather the information you need. To develop the questions, use the readings and class discussions to identify the factors that are important to understanding the experience of aging, and then determine what questions will capture information about these factors. Your questions should cover topics from all weeks through week 6. Decide how you want to gather information about changes over time that have occurred for this person. Do you want to start the interview focusing on present day issues? Or do you want to ask them to tell you about particular events that might help you understand their process of aging, such as retirement, changes in family roles, the shift from middle age to older adulthood from their perspective, ect.? Include questions in the paper as an appendix. Interview: you will be gathering information through an interview, supplemented by observation. You may add questions or follow up probes as you are doing the interview as appropriate. Give quotes or particular stories that they shared to communicate in the paper how this person presents and experiences their situation. You can organize the paper by your questions or you can organize the paper around the key themes that emerged in the interview. You want to connect what you learned from the interviewee with factors that you now understand are important in the aging process. You need to identify two major life themes or patterns that emerged from the interview. For example, you may point out how the individual kept returning to the theme of loss by sharing with you their response to relatives who have died and,or how they diminished physical capabilities have led to a diminished quality of life and/or how financial strain has limited their life satisfaction.
