IntroductionThis unit looks at the use of evidence-informed practice (also known as evidence-based practice) and nursing informatics in leadership and management. Evidence-informed practice and nursing informatics are important tools of the nurse leader. Integration of this emerging health research knowledge into practice enables nurse leaders to support the provision of quality care by all care providers. Nursing informatics and many technological applications provide nurses with up-to-date practical knowledge as well as current client information. Nursing with up-to-date/current information leads to efficient and effective quality care while also promoting client safety.
