Complete 4 part Assignment for Systems Analysis Course
Complete 4 part Assignment for Systems Analysis Course
I HAVE BEEN WORKING ON THIS BIG PROJECT IN STEPS DURING THE COURSE…I HAVE ATTACHED PRIOR PARTS OF THE PROJECT SO YOU HAVE AN IDEA OF MY TOPIC
YOU HAVE TO USE THE TEMPLATE ATTACHED BELOW FOR EACH PART
MY TOPIC: COLLEGE ADMISSION SYSTEMS
I NEED A SYSTEMS ANALYSIS EXPERT
BOOK IS ATTACHED AS WELL
PART 14:
For this assignment, you will…
- A project is not complete until it has passed its testing.
- In order for tests to begin, you must first develop a Test Plan.
- See Figure 12-2 for a Sample of a Test Plan.
- Click on the attached M/S Word file and copy-and-paste this Test Plan into your PROJECT file.
- You will only need to think of 3 (vs. 5) Test Cases that you would like for a potential end-user to perform (i.e. your Subject-Matter Expert (SME)).
- Your SME is the individual that you have been communicating with throughout this project.
- If you do not have an SME, you may find another Professional who can test your cases.
- Of course, you must select a Data Field and Value Entered from your previously submitted Data Model.
- The Interface ID can be a fictitious number.
- Because the project is not a real, built, existing system yet, you will ask your SME to look at your Interface Design (Storyboard and Prototype) and ‘act like’ they are entering values and examining the ‘expected‘ vs. ‘actual‘ results based on what they ‘think’ should happen.
- The Script is written by you and should explain what the user should see and perform.
- Read what is included in the Testing Plan starting on page 451.
- See Figure 12-2 (Test Plan) for a SAMPLE.
- Once you have understood the requirements for the project, complete your Test Plans using the format shown in Figure 12-2. Use the table that has already been created and linked in Step 4 above.
- Build upon your Systems Analysis Project Topic from the LIST provided in the course. You will build upon this project for the entire semester. A max of 3 students may choose the SAME topic on a first-come, first-serve basis.
- Your responses must be typed directly into the Systems Analysis Project TEMPLATE under the appropriate section heading. Failure to use the TEMPLATE will result in an Automatic Grade on 0 on each assignment submitted.
- Save and upload the M/S Word project here.
PART 15:
For this assignment, you will…
- There are three (3) types of user documentation: reference documents, procedures manuals, and tutorials.
- Reference documents (also called the help system) are designed to be used when the user needs to learn how to perform a specific function (i.e. updating a field or adding a new record).
- Procedures manuals describe how to perform business tasks (i.e. printing a monthly report or taking a customer order)
- Tutorials teach people how to use major components of the system (i.e. an introduction to the basic operations of the system).
- Online document is the most commonly used type of documentation.
- For this assignment, you will create ONE of EACH type of documentation described above. You only need 1 page for EACH
- Save your documentation to an online location.
- Include the 3 URLS within your project.
- You will also include the 3 ACTUAL documents as an APPENDIX in your project.
- Create a section in the body of the report and write a paragraph (comprising of 5-7 sentences) that tell the reader to look in the APPENDIX for the actual document and click on the URLs for the online version.
- See Figure 12-7 for a Sample Online Documentation.
- Read what is included in Developing Documentation starting on page 456.
- Be creative. Do not extract documentation from the internet. Doing so constitutes plagiarism and will result in an “F” in the course.
- Be sure that the URLs work. Test them BEFORE you press SUBMIT. Your grade on this assignment will be based on my ability to click and read your three (3) documentation samples.
- If the documentation is in the APPENDIX, but not linked on the internet, a grade of 0 will be given.
PART 16:
For this assignment, you will…
- The transition from the OLD business process or system to the NEW business process or system will be facilitated by ensuring that all issues are addressed.
- In order to orchestrate this migration, you must first develop a Conversion Plan.
- See Figure 13-4 for the Characteristics of Conversion Strategies.
- There are three (3) factors to consider in your Conversion Strategy – Risk, Cost and Time.
- There are three (3) elements of a Conversion Strategy – Style, Location, and Modules.
- For Style, you can do a Direct Conversion vs. Parallel Conversion.
- For Location, you can do a Pilot Conversion vs. Phased Conversion vs. Simultaneous Conversion.
- For Modules, you can do a Whole-System Conversion vs. Modular Conversion.
- You decide!
- Click on the attached M/S Word file and copy-and-paste this Conversion Plan into your PROJECT file.
- In the table, enter which Conversion Style (Direct or Parallel), enter which Conversion Location (Pilot, Phased or Simultaneous), and enter which Conversion Modules (Whole-System or Modular) that you would like to utilize for your project.
- Once done, type the selected item in the box and then EXPLAIN in 2-5 sentences WHAT the Risk, Cost, and Time are that are associated with your project.
- For example assuming you select the following, you will type the Risk associated with the Direct Conversion Style AND the Risk associated with the Pilot Conversion Location AND the Risk associated with the Whole-System Module.you will type the Cost associated with the Direct Conversion Style….you will type the Time associated with the Direct Conversion Style…
- Read what is included in the Conversion Plan starting on page 474.
PART 17:
For this assignment, you will…
- Every NEW (or MODIFIED) system requires new skills, either because the basic work processes have changed or because the computer system used to support the processes is different.
- You will develop a Training Plan.
- See Figure 13-8 for the different types of Training Methods.
- There are three (3) training types to consider – One-on-One, Classroom or Computer-Based.
- There are four (4) training elements to consider – Cost to Develop, Cost to Deliver, Impact, Reach.
- You decide!
- Click on the attached M/S Word file and copy-and-paste this Training Plan into your PROJECT file.
- In the table, enter which Training Approach (1-on-1, Classroom or Computer-Based) that you would like to utilize for your project.
- Once done, type the selected item in the box and then EXPLAIN in 5-7 sentences WHAT YOU PRESUME the Cost to Develop, Cost to Deliver, Impact, and Reach that are associated with your project.
- Read what is included in the Training Plan starting on page 488.
