In the Documentary Children of the Camps we saw how international events had a profound impact on American domestic culture and society. American government reaction to World War II led to the internment of tens of thousands of Americans solely based on their race. Japanese-American adults who had been born in or were forced into the internment camps during WWII faced lifelong wounds from the trauma of the camps, separation from parents, and racism in the years after.

One element that this course has shown is how international affairs have impacted domestic politics and social movements and vice versa. Give at least two examples (like the one above) of how this has occurred. You are to utilize at least 4 of the readings and films to discuss your examples. You may use any of the readings and films from the course to construct your essay. (You may also use Japanese internment as one of your examples if you wish).
