Following are some clarifications to provide more guidance.
1) If a question is asked (“what’s your name?”), the answer to the question is the input for the process. The process is “ask name” or “get name.” The output is “name provided” or (if stored) “name captured” or “name stored”.
2) For a given process, the inputs should have different names than the outputs. This shows that something has been done with the inputs. (input = “dirty hand”; output = “clean hands”)
3) Processes should begin with verbs. “capture …” or “enter …. “ or “ask and capture”
4) In step 10 especially (and all the other steps), keep the beauty shop perspective. Do not assume the customer perspective. The customer has already received the bill. Now the customer pays the bill. What does the beauty shop do? Keep things simple! Do not worry about means of payment (cash or check). Assume the payment is for the full amount.
