Assignment Threat Modeling
Students must submit a review of an academic paper that is related to threat modeling or threat intelligence. Some potential papers are linked from this assignment description. Students shall select papers from conference sites or academic journals – when/if using a paper not provided below, students must get instructor approval (email a copy of the paper). Students will read the academic paper and prepare a summary of the paper. Class discussions may be held on the academic papers, and the instructor may post them in the Shared Documents Wiki. The audience of your summary is you and your class to broaden your knowledge on research and provide ideas for future research.
Submissions must contain:
- An overview of the paper, including the main point of the paper.
- Contribution the paper makes to the research body of knowledge for the Cybersecurity community and an assessment on the validity of the research.
- Weak areas of the paper.

Assignment Requirements:
- Assignments submitted late will be assessed a penalty of 5 points per late day
- Papers should be no longer than 2 pages (excluding a single reference page) – do not include a cover page
- Include your name, course number/title, date, and “Week #2 Assignment” at the top of the first page
- Assignments must be in a professional format
- Font size shall be 12 point (only), using a standard block-style font (e.g., Times New Roman, Arial, Calibri)
- Margins shall be One (1) Inch
- Left justified (not Full)
- Single or 1.5 spacing is permitted (do not double-space)
- Please provide a hyperlink to your primary reference (on the reference page)
- If you use additional references, ensure they are properly cited (on the reference page), for student-selected papers, provide the instructor with a direct-link URL (which doesn’t require a subscription or membership) or a PDF copy of the source material
- Students will be graded on spelling, grammar, and word/verb usage, in addition to content and appropriateness for “college-level” submissions (which includes following the instructions above)
