Group Project Initiative Presentations –
- Argue why the intervention initiative proposes matters to this metropolitan area and the more specific dimensions of area/community impacted.
- Include some visual evidence:maps, graphs, data, whatever else – have these at relevant points of presentation.
- Be clear on what the technological innovation is – be specific.
- Budget – make the case that it’s financially feasible.
- Stakeholders:who in the community would be impacted and why.
- Competition: identify existing services or competing alternatives and specify the need or niche the proposed initiative fulfills.
- Naysayers: who might be against your group initiative and why?How would you answer their concerns directly?
- End on the constructive and how it will make a difference – sometimes, ending on a question that enables a conversation or leaves the funders wanting to learn or see more can be the most effective strategy.
Miscellaneous Logistics
1. Logo – this brands the idea so make choices about how it fits into the presentation.
2. Each group has 20-25 minutes to present; each member of group should take anywhere from 4-6 minutes, depending on size of group.
3. Be sure to have presentation in a format that can be accessed on and offline.You never know when internet might be down ….
4. Group should consider doing a practice run of some kind, to make sure everyone knows their part or role.
