The requirement for this assignment will consist of a critical review describing the topic of choice and its implications for the field of biological anthropology and/or how it impacts other aspects of society.
One major aspect of biological anthropology is genetic variation among different ethnic populations. As such, different ethnic groups face different health problems in response to genetic make-up as well as lifestyle. The conditions proposed below can be explained using Mendelian or post-Mendelian genetic rules of transmission (see Mendelian and post-Mendelian disorders in Stanford et al.)
