Collaboration Café 
Purpose
The purpose of the graded Collaboration Café is to engage students with their peers in an interactive dialogue to organize, integrate, apply, and critically appraise knowledge for nurse practitioner (NP) practice. Meaningful dialogue fosters the development of a learning community as ideas, perspectives, and knowledge are shared. This Collaboration Café supports the professional formation of the nurse practitioner role
 
Course Outcomes
This assignment enables the student to meet the following course outcomes:

CO 1: Examine the role of research and evidence from nursing and related fields in advancing healthcare outcomes and equity. (POs 4, 5)
CO 3: Appraise legal, regulatory, and professional standards in research and scholarship. (POs 3, 4)

Preparing the Collaboration Café
Follow these guidelines when completing each component of the Collaboration Café. Contact your course faculty if you have questions.
Include the following sections:

Answer all questions/criteria with explanations and detail.

 

Describe how learning about the history of research ethics impacted your view of biomedical research.
Consider the research you collected for your PICOT question. Discuss steps researchers took to protect the rights of human subjects. What additional measures would you recommend?
Describe common disparities in biomedical research. Did you find evidence of disparities in the articles you reviewed for your PICOT question? If so, what were your findings?
