Basis of medical practice.
Topic 8 DQ 2
Evidence-based practice (EBP) projects are the basis of medical practice. EBP is the reason why such projects produce statistically significant results. There is also a distinction between clinical and statistical significance (Gillani, 2011). Clinical significance refers to the ability of treatment to allow a patient to return to normal physical functioning status. However, unlike statistical significance, it is more objective, for example, to determine if the prescribed treatment achieved its intended purpose (Sedgwick, 2014). Statistical significance. However, determinants that are used only occasionally are represented as variables. In other words, it is by no means accurate whether the recommended treatment restores the patient’s normality. It works on the principle of probability. The ultimate goal of an evidence-based practice project is to produce positive results. It turns out that including clinical significance is very helpful. Performing a clinical interpretation of the entire research process is essential to ensure that patient safety and efficacy needs are taken into account in the decisions made. This study greatly improves the positive results of research work. A critical assessment of a research project by a clinician to validate both internal and external has positive consequences. Applying all these aspects of clinical importance ensures that evidence-based practice projects are not only meaningful, but also useful to those seeking medical solutions to unhealthy conditions (Diabetis).
Not all EBP projects result in statistically significant results. Define clinical significance, and explain the difference between clinical and statistical significance. How can you use clinical significance to support positive outcomes in your project?
